Kalinga

Mercy Home

This home is located in the town of Kalinga in the State of Orissa, India.

India is a country of 1.16 billion. The rich become richer and the poor become poorer. Neglect of the orphans is a heart aching problem in India's countryside. No missionary activity can become productive and fruit bearing unless and until the mission agency cares for the fatherless and motherless in these rural villages.

This home has one feature that is common in the area. If you look closely, you'll notice a stair case that leads to the roof. This gives the church home extra room to hold meetings when weather permits. It is also a place for fellowship after church services.

The children living here have the advantage of being able to play in wide open spaces. There is plenty

of unoccupied space in the fields and hills around the home.

Each home has a family atmosphere based on love and compassion. Every home shares a building with the local Christian church. The pastor is like the father, and the care givers are like moms, aunts and grandmas.
