Church Orphan Home

The Chinnavenkannapalem Church Orphan Home was built in 2008 and provides the kids with shelter from Andhra Pradesh's severe monsoon weather.

India seems to be a regular in the news with one disaster or another. Most recently, the Andhra Pradesh region has seen more than 800,000 people displaced by massive floods. The rains have been called the worst floods in 100 years.

Chinnavenkannapalem Church Orphan Home sits firmly in the Andhra Pradesh region. As the rain drops fall from the sky and the water level rises around them, the orphans are secure in the knowledge that they will be cared for, despite the storms.

For orphans, security goes beyond safety from the storms. They have been subject to intense loneliness, pain, and fear. Here, each child is welcomed into a family. They go to school and they develop dreamsfor the future. At Chinnavenkannapalem Church Orphan Home, the children have hope.

The floods are estimated to hit the region’s corn output by at least 1 million tons. We’re committed to providing food security for each of the orphaned children in the Chinnavenkannapalem Church Orphan Home, even in the face of potential food shortage. The children have been through so much, many are just beginning to regain a sense of confidence. They are learning to trust God for everything, but the adult responsibility to provide food has been lifted from their young shoulders.

Look through the pictures of the boys in the Chinnavenkannapalem Church Orphan Home. For these boys, you can be a reflection of Jesus, the ultimate source of hope and security. Will you stand in the face of the storms and care for these boys?
